It has been almost 91 years that Zyloware Eyewear has set its foot firmly in the industry. The company looks back at their long journey with pride what with achieving quality, service and customer satisfaction. Let’s take a look at its fruitful journey.

Founded in 1923 by Joseph Shyer, Zyloware first made its home in Long Island City, New York, when the area was surrounded by potato fields. For 87 years, through several expansions and evolution into the global supplier it is today, Zyloware kept functioning from the same block, just across the East River from the Manhattan skyline.

Known as an innovator in the eye-wear space, Zyloware leads the industry in original product development and branding initiatives. Zyloware’s most widely recognised innovation was perhaps the development of the Invincible in 1964. It was not only the first frame made out of nylon but with over 20 million frames sold, it was also the industry’s most successful nylon frame ever sold in the United States.

Zyloware has also always been the pioneers of technology. They launched the first ever American designer eye-wear brand — Gloria Vanderbilt Eyewear in 1976. They are also credited with launching the first eye-wear collection named after a celebrity with their Sophia Loren Eyewear launched in 1980. The first American eye-wear brand for men, Stetson Eyewear collection was also launched by the same company in 1982 which also won them an award. Since then, Zyloware has successfully expanded its brand portfolio to include the stylish Randy Jackson Collection, the prestigious Via Spiga Collection,, the fashionable Daisy Fuentes Collection and its own Zyloware and Invincilites house brands, thereby offering eye-wear for nearly every consumer.
