Entire optical fraternity awaits in unison, hoping for an exciting turn of events with the VP Awards. Mr B K Gupta of GKB Opticals, Kolkata is all praise to the efforts taken towards this unique initiative.
The Jury Meeting, held on 27th December 2013 at – Marigold Business Centre, J W Marriott, Juhu, Mumbai, witnessed the jury excited and gladly surprised as they saw numerous entries ready to be rated and eventually nominated. The nominations has concluded for the 25 categories and the gates are already open since January 1 2014 for the public online voting. The optical fraternity seems to be excited as this event will take the industry to a newer level and shall tap into the immense potential that has been explored only outside India.
Mr B K Gupta is an integral part of an esteemed panel of judges, who were entrusted with the task of shortlisting the nominees from the several entries received. He appreciated this initiative, and saw it as a welcome move that would boost the existing members, as well as new entrants to the market. He encouraged the fraternity to vote, and was confident about receiving a very favourable response from the industry.
VP Awards initiative by FourPlus Media opens an informal, yet inclusive, channel of communication from the opticians to the distributors and brands, bridging all previous gaps. It is aimed at recognising the efforts and achievements of some of the most successful personalities and business houses of the Indian optical fraternity. But more importantly, it gives opticians across India, a voice.
The voting for the awards commenced on 1st January, 2014.
As observed on the 10th day today, votes continue to pour in adding to the anxiety of the team and the participants.
