Essilor Brings In 'See Change'

Essilor has launched its new ‘See Change’ website (www.essilorseechange.com)

About 2.5 million people suffer unnecessarily from poor vision and to turn the tables of this graph, Essilor has brought in the ‘See Change’ website (www.essilorseechange.com) and a See Change report. Celebrating the many efforts being made every day by Essilor employees and partners around the world and to engage the global community in the fight for good vision, this platform will give each and every individual within the industry a power to take action and be the change makers of the community so that everyone in the world can see change through healthy vision.

Impaired vision is the most common disability in the world, yet its impact on society is largely unrecognized. Seeing well improves everything– from being able to read and doing well in school to employability and personal well-being. Essilor created its global Corporate Mission division in 2013 to leverage the Group’s expertise and geographic reach in order to tackle the growing worldwide challenge of uncorrected vision.

One-third of the global population is prevented from accessing vision care because of where they live, what they believe or what they can afford. Many do not even realize they are disadvantaged. Bridging the gap requires different thinking and fresh approaches. As a world leader and pioneer in the vision care industry, the Essilor Group is creating new pathways to shared value through partnership, inclusive business and strategic giving. Thanks to the initiatives led by the division’s teams on the ground in India, China, Brazil, Mexico and more recently certain African countries, Essilor has to date provided first-time access to vision care to half a million people, laying the foundations for the next generation of spectacle wearers and the sustainable future growth of the industry.
