Last year the optical industry witnessed another set of new innovation and creativity. The fourth edition of Vision-X VP Awards 2017– a joint initiative between VisionPlus Arabia Magazine and the organisers of Vision-X Dubai, is aiming at recognising and rewarding the best products in the optical industry. The event is supposed to be held at a lavish ceremony on the 18th October, 2017.
Introduced as a new concept three years ago, the awards received an overwhelming response in terms of participation from some of the leading brands in the optical industry across the globe. The grand celebration will be hosted amidst a lot of excitement and fun.
Like every year, Vision-X VisionPlus Awards witnessed a number of thoroughly determined people who are not looking out for any win, they are looking out for rewards from their ultimate customers. Eyewear is a niche and tricky industry and the efforts from the comrades are worth a praise!
Last year, at the Vision-X VP Awards 2016, the optical industry charmingly surprised the entire MENA region. The brand owners and the distributors had a gala time. Here’s what they had to say:

This time, it is going to be bigger and better in all terms. The aim, however, stays the same: to recognise the best in the industry and reward their quality efforts.
Winners or runners-up, each one enjoys the ultimate rewarding ceremony where the industry men are the celebrities! They are celebrated, welcomed and awarded. The coveted trophy is another symbol of pride that they take home and cherish for a long time. So do the runners-up, they savoured recognition and got a chance to connect with the customers from all over the MENA region by being able to showcase their best products.
Being nominated by the esteemed panel of judges is a victory in itself because it most definitely indicates the superiority of the entry product amongst the various options available in the industry.
Simply put, the Vision-X VisionPlus Awards 2017 works in three steps:
- Leading brands from across the globe send in their entries. The entry can be submitted online <http://vxvp-awards.com/voting/submission/> or through physical forms (Entry form PDF’s can be downloaded here <http://vxvp-awards.com/web/VXVP-Awards-2017-Brochure.pdf> or sought from VisionPlus and Vision-X officials)
- High-profile jury members comprising some of the leading retailers in the Middle East along with technical experts scrutinise each entry. They check the eyewear received physically rating it on various parameters. Based on these ratings, we arrive at the Top 5 entries in each category. Going by the credibility and reputation of the jury members, to be chosen as the top 5 in their category is in itself a feather on the cap for the nominees
- Finally, the nominated entries are put out to a wider vote, that is all professionals involved in the eyecare industry across MENA. This voting is conducted online, as well as offline through Ballot sheets. This year as a special feature, last minute entries will also be accepted by industry professionals at Vision-X on the first day of its exhibition.
