Who is a dispensing optician?

A Dispensing optician dispenses spectacles as prescribed by the optometrist or ophthalmologist. He is competent to take the required frame and facial measurements, identify the suitable spectacle lens material and design cuts and fits the lenses and makes them ready to be used by the wearer. A Dispensing optician also counsels the wearer on user guidelines.
